2007-08 Miami Dolphins

Despite having a 2-0 pre season, the jury is still out on the Fins this year. Their O Line looks a bit like Swiss cheese, making Trent Green struggle. Ronnie Brown, however, looks fantastic, and there’s lots expected of him this season.  On another downside, they don’t seem to have a legit option at tight end. Dolphins ticket buyers can expect some moments this season, though – no Cam Cameron offence can be that bad, after all. The positives Miami has need to be able to hold up against upper echelon teams.  To go against these teams, however, the Fins definitely need to build up their O line.

Previous Seasons

The Miami Dolphins are definitely best known as the last team to complete an entire season in the NFL without suffering a loss, regular season or postseason. That historic season took place in 1972 by going 14-0 in the regular season and sweeping through the playoffs. As part of their tradition, few team members still get together every year to celebrate the last undefeated team’s first loss each season. The former players will follow the last undefeated team around wherever they play and if the team loses, the players will pop a bottle of champagne and celebrate. The team drafted quarterback Dan Marino in 1983 and he was the face of the franchise for decades, along with head coach Don Shula. Since Marino’s retirement a few years ago, the team has struggled a bit, missing the playoffs for consecutive years for the first time since 1988-89. Don Shula coached in Miami for 26 years, and he was followed by Jimmy Johnson. Johnson was a successful college coach at the University of Miami before making the jump to the pros to coach the Dallas Cowboys dynasty of the 1990s.
